The scholar Disney burned the "Song of South" with Prezze Disney's farewell
Times of discover News: On a recent visit to Walt Disney Presents, the minimuseum at Disney's Hollywood Studios, we noticed a slight change to one of the exhibit's signs. In reference to the old infamous film Song of the South, the images have been replaced with that of Mr. Toad, another Disney character from the 1940s.
Song of the South has been considered incredibly insensitive since the film's release, due to its portrayal of African Americans and the post-Civil War Reconstruction era. Song of the South was also the basis for Splash Mountain, but it was later removed and replaced by Tiana Bayou Adventure at both Walt Disney World and this year at Disneyland.
For the time being, the film remains in the "Disney Vault" and there is no sign of it being re-released.
