Harris-Walz campaign responds to Trump's "I hate Taylor Swift" comment with lyrics from a song she sang
Times of discover News: In response to Donald Trump's "I hate Taylor Swift" comments posted that day, the Harris-Walz campaign referenced 28 different Taylor Swift songs in a statement Sunday morning.
The statement, titled "Trump's Bad Week (Taylor's Version)," comes in response to the former president's Sunday morning Social Truth post in which he wrote without any context, "I hate Taylor Swift!"
"We're pretty sure it's safe (and accurate) to say that Donald Trump had a very bad week," the Harris-Walz campaign wrote. "Mr. Not-At-All Fine spent this week acting out his opinions, complaining about his problems with champagne, and absolutely no time addressing the issues facing the American people."
In total, the lengthy statement referenced 28 different Swift songs, including lines like "Say whatever you want, but it's nothing new when it comes to younger men" and "We make sure our story is a story of progress — and it shows Donald Trump we won't hold back in December 2020." Some of the references were also credited to campaign spokeswoman Sarafina Chitika.
The cheeky statement came shortly after the Democratic campaign debuted ads targeting Taylor Swift after the singer endorsed Harris and Walz following Tuesday's debate. Billboards in New York City's Times Square and the Las Vegas Strip proclaimed "In Our Era Kamala," a reference to the superstar's beloved and ongoing tour, and directed viewers to IWillVote.com.
Swift's endorsement on Tuesday, in which she proudly declared that Trump's fellow candidate J.D. For Vance, the so-called "childless cat lady," 337,826 people visited Vote.gov registration sites overnight. Songs mentioned in Sunday's statement include: "Safe and Sound," "Down Bad," "Mr. Perfectly Fine," "Champagne Problems," "The Man," "Call It What You Want," "Nothing New," "The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived," "Shake It Off," "Bad Blood," "Better Than Revenge," "Sad, Beautiful, Tragic," "But Dad, I Love Him," "I Forgot You Existed," "Out of the Woods," "Blank Space," "Begin Again," "Let It Live," "Everything's Alright," "For the Last Time," "Game Over." "You Breathe," "Our Story," "Back to December," "Charmed," "Fearless" and "We'll Never Go Back." A bullet point in the album's title also refers to 1989.
