Elton John concert and documentary, Bob Dylan biopic nominated for Hollywood Music in Media Awards
Times of discover News: Elton John's documentary Never Too Late and Bob Dylan's biopic A Complete Unknown received multiple nominations at this year's Hollywood Music in Media Awards. The HMMAs recognise musical achievements in motion pictures, documentaries, feature films, musicals, screen shows and several other categories.
Elton's documentary, which will premiere on Disney+ on December 13, is nominated for Music Documentary - Special Program. Some of the other nominees include The Greatest Night in Pop, about the making of the all-star charity song "We Are the World"; and One to One: John and Yoko, detailing the couple's move to New York in the 70s and their musical performances thereafter.
In the Song-Documentary Film category, the track "Never Too Late", sung by Elton John and Brandi Carlile in the documentary, was nominated. A Complete Unknown is nominated in the Music Themed Film, Biopic or Musical category, where its competition includes Wicked, Bob Marley: One Love and the Amy Winehouse biopic Back to Black.
In the Song - On-Screen Performance (Film) category, Timothée Chalamet, who played Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown, is nominated for his on-screen performance of "Blowin' in the Wind." The HMMA Awards will be held on November 20. As previously reported, Elton singer Bernie Taupin will receive the Outstanding Career Achievement Award.
